Why I Decided to Start Offering Attuned EMDR Intensives in Lynnwood, WA: What They Are, Who They’re For, and Why I’m Passionate About Them

If you’ve been exploring therapy options and have heard about EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), you might be wondering: what exactly is an EMDR intensive, and could it be the right fit for me? In my private practice in Lynnwood, WA, I offer Attuned EMDR Intensives, a unique, trauma-informed approach to EMDR that is fully customized to each client. Here’s why I started offering them, what they look like, and who they can help.

Why I Started Offering Attuned EMDR Intensives

Traditional EMDR intensives follow a standard protocol, which can be effective—but I noticed that many clients needed a more personalized, body-centered approach. Trauma is complex and deeply embodied. Healing isn’t just about following steps; it’s about attuning to the nervous system, emotions, and internal parts.

I also noticed a common challenge: many clients have very busy work lives and genuinely want to commit to therapy, but weekly sessions can be hard to maintain. When we try to schedule every-other-week sessions, the healing process often feels too slow. There’s never enough time to fully process trauma, and then clients must wait another two weeks to continue.

That’s why I created Attuned EMDR Intensives. These sessions allow clients to process a significant chunk of trauma in a single, concentrated timeframe. This is especially helpful for clients with CPTSD, where many trauma components are entangled. Experiencing noticeable shifts within one intensive helps clients increase their capacity, creating more space for love, awareness, and attunement in their lives.

This is my in person office where I do attuned EMDR intensives, where I blend IFS therapy and Somatic Experiencing in Lynnwood, WA.

What an Attuned EMDR Intensive Looks Like

Most clients choose between half-day (3-hour), full-day (6-hour), or multi-day formats. Here’s how it works:

  1. Initial Consultation & Assessment (90 minutes): We explore your history, goals, and readiness, and determine the format that will best support your healing.

  2. The Intensive Session(s): EMDR is combined with techniques from Internal Family Systems (IFS), Somatic Experiencing, and mindfulness. Sessions are flexible and responsive, allowing deep processing while keeping your nervous system regulated.

  3. Follow-Up Session (90 minutes, about a week later): This session supports integration, reflection, and continued growth after the intensive.

The flexibility and customization make Attuned EMDR Intensives different from traditional EMDR intensives. It’s about you and your healing journey, not just the protocol.

Who Can Benefit from an EMDR Intensive?

Attuned EMDR Intensives can be helpful for anyone struggling with:

  • Childhood trauma or developmental trauma

  • Emotional dysregulation or intense shame

  • Anxiety, depression, or panic

  • Recent traumatic event

  • Past experiences that continue to impact relationships or daily life

Because these intensives are flexible, they’re also ideal for clients who:

  • Have busy work schedules and find weekly therapy sessions hard to commit to

  • Want a faster, concentrated way to work through trauma

  • Are looking for a personalized, body-centered approach to EMDR

Why I’m Passionate About Attuned EMDR Intensives

I believe that trauma can be healed when we honor the body, mind, and emotional experience together. EMDR is a powerful tool—but when combined with attunement, somatic awareness, and parts work, it becomes transformational.

I love seeing clients experience noticeable shifts within a single intensive, increase their emotional capacity, and make more space for love, awareness, and attunement. My goal is to create a safe, compassionate space where clients can feel fully supported, process deeply, and leave with a sense of integration and empowerment. Offering Attuned EMDR Intensives in Lynnwood, WA allows me to help clients experience faster, deeper healing in a way that truly meets their unique needs.
